Rocketboom Joins blip.tv; Announces Sponsorship by The Sarah Silverman Program
Sponsorship includes clickable overlay ads - a first for QuickTime video and downloadable content
NEW YORK, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Blip.tv (http://blip.tv/), the video sharing network focused on shows, announced today that Rocketboom is joining its expanding roster of serialized Web shows. Rocketboom, the off-beat daily show, will launch on blip.tv with a sponsorship by the 2nd season of Comedy Central's The Sarah Silverman Program.
Launched in 2004 as one of the first shows of its kind, Rocketboom is a daily three-minute newscast covering technology and pop culture. It is one of the most popular video shows on the Web, attracting more than four million views a month. In joining blip.tv, Rocketboom will be featured alongside shows such as Wallstrip, The Burg, Treehugger, Alive in Baghdad and Goodnight Burbank, among others.

Blip.tv will host videos and serve ads for Rocketboom at www.rocketboom.com,on blip.tv's destination site at http://blip.tv/, and throughout blip.tv's distribution network, including iTunes.

Blip.tv brokered the sponsorship of Rocketboom through New York-based advertising agency Deep Focus. As part of the sponsorship, Rocketboom will run the first ever clickable overlay ads on QuickTime versions of the show, a technique pioneered by blip.tv. The ad campaign will also feature postroll videos and additional components.
