New 'Go Commerce' Service Synchronizes Station 'Live' On-Air Programming with Available Ecommerce Opportunities; Enables New Revenue Possibilities for Radio Stations
BELLEVUE, Wash., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Jump2Go, Inc. today announced the availability of its "Go Commerce" service to support Apple's Radio Tagging Feature for HD Radio & RDS equipped radio stations. Go Commerce service is the sole provider of tagging technology compatible with iTunes, which is available immediately and will be accessible to an even greater number of radio stations nationwide.
"Jump2Go's Go Commerce service generates revenue for stations from HD Radio Tagging, RDS radio tagging and iTunes fulfillment on radio station websites," said Allen Hartle, founder and CTO of Jump2Go, Inc. "This is an exciting development which now enables terrestrial radio to directly support and interact with the very successful iPod and iTunes product lines. With our proprietary technology, Jump2Go is uniquely qualified to be the sole provider of HD Radio Tagging services, in addition to our own patented pending solution for FM RDS and the station web sites."
Radio stations who subscribe to the Go Commerce service are able to embed rich data into the FM signal, which they can then use to help monetize their programming. Listeners are able to immediately buy the song that is playing on their favorite radio station by simply pressing a "buy" button in the radio station's customized Go Commerce enabled store that lives within the station's website.
In addition, the Go Commerce service now empowers device manufacturers with the opportunity to design advanced features into their products so that, for example, the ability to buy a song from a radio station and have it synched with your portable media player is simple and seamless.
Successful testing of the Go Commerce tagging system took place in August in Seattle at Entercom's KNDD "The End", Entercom's KBWF "The Wolf", and in San Francisco at Cumulus' KFOG radio stations.
