On Tuesday, October 9, Nick Jr. will release a new DVD entitled Go, Diego, Go!: Safari Rescue, created by Nickelodeon Home Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment. The DVD will feature the title hour-long TV movie, in addition to two other Go, Diego, Go! adventures, "Panchita the Prairie Dog" and "Little Hawk Learns to Migrate." Bonus features on Go, Diego, Go!: Safari Rescue include a safari animal photo gallery and a song selection option.

"Diego's next great adventure takes him to a whole new continent -- Africa!," said Brown Johnson, Executive Vice President, Executive Creative Director, Nickelodeon Preschool. "Animal rescuer Diego and his friends explore the wilds of the African Serengeti. Nick Jr. viewers will discover a new set of animals that are unique to Africa including baboons, gazelles and impalas, while picking up a little Swahili along the way."

Beginning Monday, October 1, Nick Jr. Video, Nick Jr.'s broadband video service available on Nickjr.com, will feature a never-before-seen music video and 2-minute "sneak peek" from the "Safari Rescue" TV movie. The exclusive content will also be available on wireless carriers, beginning the week of October 1.

In "Safari Rescue," Diego, Alicia, and Baby Jaguar are visiting their friend Juma in Africa who tells them the story of the elephants. Once upon a time, a mean magician turned all of the elephants in the Serengeti into rocks with his magic wand. In order to break the spell, Diego, Alicia, Juma, and Baby Jaguar journey in a hot air balloon to the top of a tall mountain to find a magical African drum hidden in a cave. There they meet Erin the Elephant, who has been hiding from the magician and protecting the magic drum. Diego and friends call upon the viewers at home to help Erin dig the drum from its hiding spot in the ground. Click the Camera helps the team zoom through the Serengeti to locate the giant rocks in the shape of the elephants. Diego, Alicia, Juma and Baby Jaguar set out to save the elephants, traveling first through the Dry Tree Forest. Along the way, they encounter animals in trouble, and the viewers at home help play the magical drum which creates a water hole for the thirsty impalas to drink from, and food for the hungry gazelles and baboons.

Nick Jr.'s award-winning website (www.nickjr.com) will feature an interactive game and activities to complement the premiere of the Go, Diego, Go! TV Movie "Diego's Safari Rescue." Beginning September 21, Nick Jr.com will feature the "Safari Rescue Game" where kids can go online to help Diego reverse the spells that the bad magician has cast on all the animals of the Serengeti. Players must make their way through the savanna to find the animals and use the magic drum to restore them to their natural state. Additionally, NickJr.com will feature safari-themed printables, crafts, activities and more.

In each episode, Diego (Jake T. Austin) receives a call for help at his Animal Rescue Center in the rainforest. With help from his friends, high-tech gadgets and viewers at home, Diego identifies and locates the animal in trouble and the adventure begins. Diego is joined by his 11-year-old sister Alicia (Constanza Sperakis), a computer whiz who is also bilingual and easily switches between speaking English and Spanish. Baby Jaguar is the animal closest to Diego's heart, and his youthful eagerness sometimes puts him in precarious situations. Other characters include Click (Rosie Perez), a high- tech camera with a knack for locating lost animals; Rescue Pack, a messenger bag that can transform into any form of transportation that Diego needs, like a boat, snowboard or parasail; and the Bobo Brothers, a mischievous pair of spider monkeys. Diego's cousin Dora also makes guest appearances in the series.

Go, Diego, Go! was created and executive produced by Chris Gifford and Valerie Walsh, the same team behind the phenomenal hit show Dora the Explorer.
