SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- WXYZ-TV / Channel 7 is set to provide metro-Detroiters with comprehensive coverage of everything leading to the "Big Race" on Sunday, September 2nd. WXYZ-TV Grand Prix coverage includes six live programming specials and Action News will provide the most comprehensive and complete coverage of the day's events. All of WXYZ's programming specials and news coverage will be presented in high definition. WXYZ-TV is the official television partner for the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. Countdown to Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix Primetime Edition - Wed. Aug. 29th 8:00 - 9:00pm

Live from WXYZ-TV's Belle Isle set, Action News sports anchor Don Shane will provide a comprehensive look at the 2007 Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. The program features interviews with key drivers, team owners and a select group of Metro Detroiters that led the efforts for the Grand Prix's return to Detroit.

Countdown to the Green Flag - Fri. Aug. 31st 7:00 - 7:30pm

Action News will take you trackside, live from WXYZ-TV's Belle Isle set for a complete summary of Free Prix Day. This action packed half-hour special will include driver and team interviews, highlights from the day's time trials and look ahead to Saturday's American LeMans series and Sunday's Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix Race. The show will be hosted by WXYZ-TV's Don Shane and Stephen Clark.

Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix: Start Your Engines - Sun. Sept. 2nd 9:00- 10:30am

WXYZ-TV Action News anchors, Stephen Clark and Carolyn Clifford kick-off Grand Prix coverage with a 90-minute live special featuring a comprehensive look at race day activities with updated weather and traffic information designed for racing fans. The program will also include driver and team interviews.

Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix: Countdown to the Green Flag - Sun. Sept. 2nd Noon -1:00pm

Live from the WXYZ-TV Belle Isle Studio, WXYZ-TV's Carolyn Clifford and Stephen Clark will provide comprehensive 'day of' coverage of the Detroit Grand Prix. The program will include exclusive interviews with drivers, team management and provide live coverage of fans as they arrive at the track.

Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix: Pit Pass Special - Sun. Sept. 2nd 2:00 - 3:30pm

WXYZ-TV's Don Shane will give Grand Prix viewers a trackside view of the day's big race. The program will include interviews with city and event officials, drivers and racing analysts.
