Visa Back-To-School Survey Finds That Only 5% of Kids Learn Vital Life Skill of Money Management in Class

Summer is almost over and parents should be worried, not about back-to- school shopping, but whether or not their children are learning how to budget, save and invest in their futures. A survey released by Visa showed that only five percent of adults learned about the vital life skill of money management in elementary or high school -- a surprisingly low number.

The Visa survey of one-thousand cardholders also found that less than half of people learned about money management from their parents while 41 percent were self-taught or learned the hard way. At the same time, the survey discovered that 91 percent of respondents said they supported requiring financial education be taught in every high school in the country. Currently just fifteen states have some sort of financial education requirement for high school students.

Van Halen and David Lee Roth Announce North American Tour

Beginning this September, Van Halen will embark on a national concert tour throughout the U-S and Canada with its original lead singer David Lee Roth for the first time in 22 years.

Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen will perform with Eddie's son, Wolfgang who joins the line-up as the band's bass player. Van Halen and Roth have not performed or recorded together since 1984's classic multi-platinum album "1984" and subsequent tour, making this tour truly a historic event.

Twenty-five dates in all were announced for the tour which is slated for a September 27th kick-off in Charlotte, North Carolina.
