WASHINGTON, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- TinselVision(TM), a Tinsel Cinema broadband Internet, premium video-on-demand (VoD) service targeting South Asian communities in the US, UK and Canada, today welcomes the addition of Cliff Holtz -- President of Nortel's North America Enterprise Business Unit -- to its Board of Directors. Holtz joins alongside exciting appointments to the company's newly formed Boards of Advisors.

As former President of AT&T's multi-billion dollar Metro Markets division, Holtz increased sales faster than the industry while reducing customer churn by forty percent.

Cliff joins Shahid Khan, a world renowned authority on energy and economics, and Saad Shervani, the youngest person ever appointed to India's Supreme Court Bar, on the company's board. Khan is president of Innovative Entertainment and, has served in capacities ranging from Minister of Finance to the government of Pakistan to Policy Advisor at the World Bank. He has raised billions of dollars for infrastructure projects from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and the IMF. Shervani is a co-founder and VP of Content and Legal for the company, and runs Tinsel's India operations in Bombay.
TinselVision(TM) is also pleased to announce the formation of its Finance & Operations Board of Advisors and, the appointment of Tina Ravitz to chair the group. Ravitz brings over 25 years of legal, strategic, deal-making and corporate governance practice experience to the company. As VP of Technology and Business Operations at Viacom, heading a $100MM annual budget, she drove their expansion into Europe and Asia with MTV Asia and Nickelodeon Germany, among others. At Newsweek, Ravitz led the company's multimillion dollar domestic and international law department. She holds degrees from Princeton, the London School of Economics and the University of Virginia (UVA).
Joining Ravitz on the advisory board are Amir Ahmed, Rich Hozik and Frank Mattson.
Amir Ahmed is senior advisor to the CEO, and chief strategic counsel on sales and marketing for the company. As Senior VP of Sales and Distribution for EchoStar Satellite Corporation (NASDAQ:DISH), a fortune 300 company, Ahmed oversaw an organization with over 600 employees and played an instrumental role in establishing DISH Network as the fastest growing paid television service in the United States. He brings key event, marketing and promotional ties to TinselVision(TM), understanding how the right combination of offline, grassroots investments enable an online service to exceed its sales and marketing key goals.
Rich Hozik is senior financial advisor to Tinsel's board of directors. He brings over 30 years of financial and operations experience to Tinsel Cinema. Hozik began his career with the international accounting firm of Arthur Andersen, LLP, and has subsequently served as Chief Financial Officer and/or Divisional CEO to a number of both publicly traded and privately held companies. His credentials span capital raising, M&A, profit improvement and cost containment, among other areas vital to the company's success. Over the course of his career, Hozik has raised more than $3 billion of private/public equity and debt and has played a lead or key role in over 50 M&A transactions.
Frank Mattson is the company's chief distribution advisor, involved closely in channel planning. He joined Penguin Computing in May 2005 as CFO and, was appointed to the role of CEO in 2007. With more than 20 years of senior executive experience in large organizations and start-ups, Mattson has led pre-product start-ups through private financings and one initial public offering (IPO). Previously, Frank was E.V.P. and C.F.O. of MusicNet, a start- up backed by top tier venture firms. Earlier in his career, Frank held senior general management, operations, and financial positions at Ingram Entertainment, and Commtron Corporation, market-leading distributors in the home entertainment industry.
Tinsel also announces this week its acquisition of desivision.tv, in an undisclosed cash and stock transaction which obtains the desivision.tv brand, content and customer database. Desivision.tv achieved more than one million unique monthly visitors to its service and will be incorporated into TinselVision's social network offerings.
The company is now assembling its Broadcast & Entertainment Advisory Board, which will include a who's who in Indian television, film, sports, production, finance and distribution. TinselVision(TM) will share the names of these additional advisors at the time it launches its new on-demand channel.
