Grammy Award-Winning Artist Erykah Badu, Comedian Eddie Griffin, Morris Day & The Time, Tony Award-Winner Heather Headley, and Legendary Funk Ensemble Cameo Headline Sold-Out Event

MIAMI, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- An award-winning line-up of legendary performers will headline the 14th annual Black Enterprise/Pepsi Golf & Tennis Challenge which kicks off August 30 in Miami, FL. The highly anticipated event brings together nearly 1,200 of the nation's top entrepreneurs, business executives, and corporate leaders for a weekend of friendly competition and spectacular entertainment.

The event begins Thursday as Pepsi presents Broadway superstar and R&B vocalist Heather Headley. After starring in Broadway's The Lion King and winning a Tony Award for her performance in Aida by Elton John and Tim Rice, Headley made her transition from stage actress to soul singer with her album This Is Who I Am. The release earned her the 2003 Soul Train Lady of Soul R&B/Soul Album of the Year as well as the Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist.

Friday night, Aetna hosts an evening of laughter with comedian Eddie Griffin. Nicknamed the "King of Hip-Hop Stand-up," Griffin will be followed by one of R&B's all-time greatest party bands-Morris Day & The Time. Saturday, FedEx brings renowned funk ensemble Cameo to the stage followed by the legendary DJ Spinderella.

Sunday, Chrysler presents the final awards dinner featuring a performance by Grammy Award-winning vocalist Erykah Badu. Described as one of the most eclectic performers in the music industry, Badu has performed to sold-out audiences worldwide since 1997 when her groundbreaking debut album, Baduizm, was released to critical claim and commercial success.

A portion of the proceeds from the Black Enterprise/Pepsi Golf & Tennis Challenge will go to the Harlem Junior Tennis and Education Program, a New York-based nonprofit that offers urban children free tennis lessons, and the Bill Dickey Scholarship Association (formerly the National Minority Junior Golf Scholarship Association), a junior golf program that enables interested youngsters to learn the fundamentals of golf. Both programs encourage sportsmanship and afford youth the opportunity to explore academic interests.

Sponsors of the 14th annual Black Enterprise/Pepsi Golf & Tennis Challenge include Aetna, American Airlines, American Express, Ameriprise Financial, AT&T, Chrysler, FedEx, Frito-Lay, Georg Jensen, Intercontinental, Liberty Mutual, Pernod Ricard USA, Microsoft, Monster.com, Pepsi, Polo Ralph Lauren, QTG, Quad Graphics, Southern Company, Titleist, United States Tennis Association, VISITFLORIDA, and Xerox.
