12th Annual Taste of Cleveland Will Serve Thousands During Labor Day Weekend

CLEVELAND, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Fill your plate with five-star cuisine and entertainment at the 12th Annual Taste of Cleveland presented by Pepsi, Cleveland.com, Friday! in The Plain Dealer and WKYC-TV 3. Cleveland's salute to summer's end is Friday, August 31 -- Monday, September 3 at Time Warner Cable Amphitheater at Tower City in downtown Cleveland (formerly Tower City Amphitheater).

Area restaurants, eateries, and bistros will serve signature menu items in one convenient location. Bite-sized portions of cuisine from every corner of Cleveland will be served. Pick up a "Best of the Fest" ballot at the event and cast your vote for "Best Restaurant" and "Best Entree."

Indulge in a music festival featuring acts as diverse as the food. The weekend starts Friday, August 31 with The Romantics (8pm), Donnie Iris and The Cruisers (9:30pm) and special guest Will Hoge (7pm). Enjoy classic rock Saturday, September 1 from local legend Michael Stanley and The Resonators (9pm). Donny Osmond (9:15pm) will serenade the crowd Sunday, September 2. Celebrate Monday, September 3 with Cleveland native and Grammy-Award winner Macy Gray (6:30pm) and The Brand New Heavies (5pm). As a tribute to Cleveland's diversity, ethnic dance troops will perform Saturday and Sunday.

After the smorgasbord of food and music, take in a cooking demonstration at the House of Blues Culinary Showcase or climb aboard the Style(R) Network Beauty Bus for a mini-makeover. On Saturday, September 1, local mayors team up with restaurants to compete in the Time Warner Cable Mayors' Dessert Cup Challenge. Visit the "Crush In The City" exhibit for a California winery experience and sample wines from the Robert Mondavi Private Selection portfolio. Ted Allen (Top Chef, Iron Chef America) will offer his wine expertise in person Saturday, September 1.
