Branded Channels Flava, Radio Voyager and UPop to Provide Complete Coverage of Historic Concert Series

SILVER SPRING, Md., July 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- WORLDSPACE(R) Satellite Radio (NASDAQ:WRSP), one of the world leaders in satellite-based digital radio services and an official broadcast partner of "Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis," today announced its schedule of coverage for the 24-hour, concert series taking place on July 7, 2007.

Starting at 0000 GMT, WORLDSPACE Satellite Radio will provide its global subscribers throughout Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, with continuous coverage of the event on three of its WORLDSPACE-branded channels- Flava (Channel 204), Radio Voyager (Channel 11) and UPop (Channel 29). Live performances from all concert locations will be aired, along with on-site commentary and back-stage interviews from reporters on the ground in Sydney, Johannesburg, Hamburg, London, and New York. Channel 29 will provide highlights of the day's best performances from all event locations.

Live Earth is a special, 24-hour event consisting of eight concerts taking place on 7/7/07 that will bring together more than 150 music artists and two billion people with the hope of inspiring a global movement to "answer the call" and combat the climate crisis. Official concerts will take place in Hamburg, Johannesburg, London, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, Sydney, and Tokyo. Special broadcast events will take place from the To-ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan, and the Rothera Research Station in Antarctica.

Musical talent includes among many others: AFI, Alicia Keys, Baaba Maal, Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Crowded House, Duran Duran, Genesis, Joss Stone, Kanye West, Katie Melua, Lenny Kravitz, Linkin Park, Madonna, Metallica, Paolo Nutini, The Police, Razorlight, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Shakira, Snoop Dogg, Snow Patrol, Spinal Tap, UB40 and Vusi Mahlasela.
