Alpha Dialogue Advisors to Host the 1st Alpha Investment Forum (Japan)

TOKYO, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Alpha Dialogue Advisors, LLC, a NY and Tokyo-based consulting firm specializing in independent, cross-border capital introductions, strategic investor relations, investment forums and market intelligence research announced today that it will host the 1st Alpha Investment Forum Japan (www.alphaforums.com) on Tuesday, July 10th in Tokyo, Japan. Alpha Dialogue has already conducted three forums in New York this year. The investor-only, invitation-only Japan forum seeks to provide an independent platform where the Japanese institutional investors can network with and research the quality alternative investment managers from overseas.

According to Alpha Dialogue's Japanese institutional investors survey conducted in February 2007, the majority of Japanese investors have access to merely less than 10% of the approximately 10,000 hedge fund universe worldwide. The firm attributes its launch of Alpha Investment Forum to the investors' strong demand for direct interaction and knowledge exchange with the quality foreign managers. The agenda for the July 10th Alpha Investment Forum Japan includes a research presentation by an investment officer of a U.S. college endowment on the "U.S. Institutional Investors' Approach to Portfolio Diversification and Alternative Investments" and an open discussion with Japanese institutional investors. Four U.S. hedge fund and fund-of-funds managers are scheduled to present their strategies, including Lakeview Investment Manager, LLC (established by the founder and former CEO of a major fund of hedge funds, Grosvenor Capital Management), Pequot Capital Management (Byron Wien, the former Morgan Stanley senior investment strategist and the current chief investment strategist of Pequot), Cyrus Capital Partners (founded as a result of MBO of Och-Ziff Friedheim Capital), Harbert Management Corporation (the parent entity of Harbinger Capital Partners). Each of these managers, while relatively less known in the Japanese market, commands superior reputation among the overseas institutional investors.

Alpha Dialogue reported that 103 investors from 75 institutions had registered for the forum as of June 30, 2007. The institutional breakdown is provided on the table included in this release. One third (1/3) of the 75 registrants reported the aggregate asset under management of approximately more than 181 trillion Japanese yen. The same institutions invest in total approximately well over 7 trillion Japanese yen in the alternative assets, diversified across hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate, and others. Combined with the investment assets of the registered institutions who did not disclose such information, the July Alpha Investment Forum Japan is expected to host a prominent group of the active institutional investors.
