2007 Chrysler Jeep Superstores Detroit APBA Gold Cup Race Heats Up Fun for the Whole Family July 13-15, 2007

Added Attractions Race Weekend Include Entertainment, U.S. Navy Flight Simulator and Family Fun Zone

DETROIT, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- This year's entertainment and family attractions are as exciting as the competition on the river. The heat is on in July with the 2007 Chrysler Jeep Superstores Detroit APBA Gold Cup Race.

New attractions and longer hours of operation increase the summertime fun. Friday, July 13, is "free Friday," with the racecourse open until 7 p.m. for racing fans. The races take place on the Detroit River racecourse near Belle Isle, recognized worldwide as the premier site for hydroplane boat racing.

This year's entertainment and family attractions are equally as exciting as the competition on the river. Indie Pop Rock group Sinjon Smith, Classic Rock band Dream Street Rose and the soulful Black THRILL will rock the stage during the weekend. The free "Camp Jeep" driving experience provides actual test demonstration rides on a special Jeep wilderness course. Another new attraction is the Family Fun Zone located in Hydromart including a coloring zone, a movie zone, a Hot Wheel zone, Table Hockey for kids and adults; and face painting on Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Palace [Detroit Pistons] will provide a 30 x 40 ft basketball court for kids of all ages.

The 2007 Chrysler Jeep Superstores APBA Gold Cup weekend is the premier family water-racing event.
