Schuylkill Banks free movie series kicks off tomorrow with Alfred Hitchcock's "Dial M for Murder."

PHILADELPHIA, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- In the shadows of the Schuylkill River at dusk, Alfred Hitchcock fans will have an unusual backdrop for the opening night of his classic film, "Dial M for Murder." This will be the first of six free films offered at Schuylkill Banks as part of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation's 2007 programming season.

The film will be shown at approximately 8:30 PM, at the Walnut Street Bridge entrance to the park. In addition to the film, there will be free soft pretzels and drinks provided by SRDC, and prizes given to anyone who is dressed like any character in an Alfred Hitchcock movie. The "Suspense on the Banks" movie series will be held every other Thursday through August 23, except July 12. Other films include: "Rear Window," "North by Northwest," "Psycho," and "The Birds."

Also, on July 10, 11, and 12, in partnership with the Independent Film Channel, Schuylkill Banks will host three evenings of cool films beginning at dusk at the Locust Street entrance to the park. The films include: "Raising Arizona," "Princess Bride," and Napoleon Dynamite." In addition to the movies, there will be a movie festival featuring a special "Media Lab Lounge," where local filmmaker's works will be showcased, and prizes including a SONY home theatre system, HD cameras, and more. People are encouraged to donate any DVD's for a new entertainment library for Temple University's Children's Hospital in partnership with the non-profit organization, "Kid Flicks."
