Do Something Cool This Summer for the Elderly ... Help NBC 10's 'Beat the Heat' Campaign

Donate a fan or air-conditioner SATURDAY, June 16th, 10AM-1PM on NBC 10's parking lot

BALA CYNWYD, Penn., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Every year, senior citizens are affected by the threat of heat related illnesses or worse, heat related deaths. Two of the areas biggest media companies (NBC 10 TV and WDAS-FM), are asking their viewers and listeners to come out and donate a fan or air-conditioner to help the elderly in the tri-state area 'beat the heat.'

Who: NBC 10's African American Forum (AAF), an affinity group whose
mission is to strengthen ties with the community in our viewing
area, has formed a media partnership with WDAS-FM 105.3 to collect
donated fans and air-conditioners to be distributed, free of
charge, to senior citizens throughout the Greater Philadelphia,
Lehigh Valley, South Jersey and Delaware.

What: In years past, the NBC 10 AAF 'Beat the heat' campaign received
overwhelming support from people throughout the Philadelphia
Region. The goal this year is to increase the number of donations.
