NYC Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Convene for International Summit
NEW YORK, May 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- New York City grandparents who are raising their grandchildren will join grandparents from around the world at an international grandparenting summit to bring awareness to the growing numbers of grandparents who have become parents again.
Grandparents, along with experts and providers from the U.S., Canada, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Native American communities will converge in Brooklyn on May 7-8 to focus the world's attention on the challenges and needs of grandparent caregivers.
Joining them will be the famous singer Patti Page, who is raising two of her 13 grandchildren, while still performing her hit songs for audiences around the country, including her signature hit from the 50's "How much is that doggie in the window." She will deliver the keynote address at the conference and will share her personal experience as a grandmother taking on the role of a parent.
