Integra5's SMS to TV Application Honored in Broadband Gear Report's Annual Diamond Technology Reviews by Judges from Major MSOs
Innovative Product is the First in the Industry to Enable SMS Communications Between Cell Phones and TVs
BURLINGTON, Mass., May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Integra5, the pioneer in enabling cable and IPTV service providers to blend quad play bundles into converged services for simultaneous delivery across TVs and PCs, today announced that its SMS to TV application received 3.5 diamonds in Broadband Gear Report's 2007 Diamond Technology Reviews.
The Diamond Technology Reviews recognize leading products, software and services that help cable and broadband providers increase the reliability, efficiency and capacity of their Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networks to improve profitability and overall customer satisfaction. The judging was conducted by a panel of senior technology executives from major MSOs, including Comcast, Cox, Charter, Rogers and Bright House.
"The judges were impressed by Integra5's unique application, which enables SMS communications across wireless and wireline networks," said Laura Hamilton, vice president and editor-in-chief at Broadband Gear Report. "This marks the second year in a row that Integra5 has received an excellent score."
SMS to TV is the latest application to leverage Integra5's Converged Services Platform (i5 CSP), as well as the industry's first service that takes SMS text messages sent to landline numbers from mobile phones and diverts them to a customer's television. Subscribers can use the TV remote control to respond with pre-set options or to trigger a "click to call" feature - initiating a phone call between the home landline phone and the cell phone that sent the text message. If the person who sent the text message has been personalized via the i5 network address book, the SMS will be flagged with the sender's picture and nickname on the TV screen as well. All of Integra5's SMS capabilities are also available on PCs.
"This industry recognition is a testament to the value of cross-platform applications for driving service provider revenue, increasing up-sells and promoting subscriber 'stickiness,'" said Meredith Flynn-Ripley, chief executive officer of Integra5. "We are confident that SMS to TV will help service providers differentiate their triple and quad play offerings, and are honored to have received this distinction."
Integra5 was recognized in the awards' "Next-Gen Voice" category. The full results of the Diamond Technology Reviews judging will be published in Broadband Gear Report and in a special print issue to be distributed at SCTE's Cable-Tec Expo 2007, June 19-22 in Orlando, Fla. Integra5's i5 CSP and SMS to TV application will be showcased at SCTE with MetaSwitch.
