'Bring It On: In It To Win It' Jumps Into Principal Photography at Universal Orlando Resort

Universal DVD Originals(TM) Adds All New, High Energy Chapter to the Mega Hit Franchise

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- More high-flying fun, chart-topping music and no-holds-barred competition is headed for the screen as Universal DVD Original(TM) "Bring It On: In It To Win It" commenced principal photography on Friday, April 27th at the Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. A leader in bringing high quality fare to the rapidly growing made-for-DVD market, Universal Studios Home Entertainment further advances its hugely successful DVD Original strategy with this latest installment of the hugely popular "Bring It On" franchise. Presented by Universal Studios Family Productions and Beacon Pictures, "Bring It On: In It To Win It" is slated for release on DVD this holiday season.

The combination of hot young stars, daring athletics and high impact competition with just a dash of romance, has made the "Bring It On" franchise a thriving phenomenon. With a loyal audience of hip admirers who have been fans since the original theatrical release, the successful property has resulted in over $216 million in home entertainment sales in North America alone. "Bring It On: In It To Win It" follows in the footsteps of the extraordinarily successful "Bring It On: All Or Nothing," which along with fellow Universal DVD Original releases "American Pie Presents Band Camp," "American Pie Presents The Naked Mile" and "Bring It On Again" make up four of the top five non-family DVD premieres of all time.

The new film, shot entirely on location and in soundstages at the Universal Orlando Resort, takes the beloved franchise to new heights with sensational music and gravity-defying dance stunts. A dazzling collection of rising young performers reach for the stars in "Bring It On: In It To Win It," including Ashley Benson ("Days of Our Lives"), Cassie Scerbo (CBS' "The Slumber Party Girls"), Michael Copon ("One Tree Hill"), Jennifer Tisdale (Mr. Deeds), Kierstin Koppel ("Sydney White"), and in their feature film debuts, Anniese Taylor Dendy and Noel Areizaga.

Director Steve Rash ("Bring It On: All or Nothing," "Can't Buy Me Love") once again takes the reins of this high energy film focusing on the ultra-competitive world of high school cheerleading. "Bring It On: In It To Win It" is produced by Wayne Morris ("Miami Vice," "Rush Hour") and executive produced by Armyan Bernstein ("Firewall," "Ladder 49") and Charlie Lyons ("The Guardian," "Water Horse"). "Bring It On: All or Nothing" screenwriter Alyson Fouse ("Scary Movie 2," "Everybody Hates Chris") and Elena Song lend their talents to the film's screenplay.

A top-flight production team has been assembled, including director of photography Levie Isaacks ("Malcolm in the Middle," "Dawson's Creek"), production designer Mark Garner ("The Notebook," "Miami Vice"), editor Tony Lombardo ("Fat Albert," "Bring It On Again"), costume designer Beverly Safier ("Sydney White," "Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius"), music by Transcenders ("Joey") and music supervisor Paul DiFranco ("Bring It On: All or Nothing"). Tony Gonzalez ("Bring It On: All or Nothing," "Haunted Mansion") will once again lend his skills as one of the world's foremost cheer choreographers to the film's awe-inspiring cheer routines.

In "Bring It On: In It To Win It," Southern California high school senior Carson arrives at the all-important "Cheer Camp Nationals" determined to lead her squad, the West High Sharks, to victory. But chic New Yorker Brooke and her team, the East High Jets, are equally steadfast in their pursuit of the competition's coveted "Spirit Stick." As tension mounts between the two rival squads, Carson falls for fellow cheerleader Penn, not realizing he's a Jet. When Brooke discovers the budding romance, she raises the stakes by challenging Carson to a one-on-one cheer-off. A spectacular "cheer fighting" sequence erupts into a no-holds-barred brawl and cheerleaders on both sides are suspended from the competition. With their dreams of taking home the top prize all but shattered, the leaders of both squads realize they'll have to take drastic measures to stay in the game.
