GSN Opens Its Classic Vault to Present a Special Week-Long Homage to Kitty Carlisle Hart's Appearances on 'To Tell The Truth' Starting Monday, April 23 at 2:00 PM ET

Afternoon Episodes Are in Addition to the Special Hour-Long 'To Tell The Truth' Carlisle Tribute Airing Sunday Night, April 22

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- In addition to GSN's late Sunday night April 22 Kitty Carlisle Hart tribute, the network is airing Carlisle "To Tell The Truth" episodes from 2:00 to 2:30 PM/ET for the week beginning Monday, April 23. GSN is preempting "Card Sharks" for the entire week to pay homage to the "grand dame" of game shows, Kitty Carlisle Hart, who passed away yesterday at the age of 96.

In all, Kitty Carlisle fans will be able to enjoy six episodes of the best of the best "To Tell The Truth" episodes. The episodes are as follows:

At 3:00 AM ET on April 22, GSN is airing Carlisle's first appearance on "To Tell The Truth." This classic black-and-white episode premiered March 5, 1957 and featured Bud Collyer as host. Other panelists joining Carlisle included Polly Bergen, Ralph Bellamy and Hy Gardner. Guests on this particular episode featured the personal barber to the president, a female blackjack dealer/mineral prospector and disc jockey Alan Freed, who is often credited as the radio father of rock 'n' roll.

Then on Monday, April 23 at 2:00 PM ET -- GSN is airing a very special "To Tell The Truth" which featured Carlisle's son as one of the guest imposters. This color episode originally aired in 1973 and featured host Garry Moore. Panelists included Bill Cullen, Joe Garagiola and Peggy Cass. Guests were a New York City police detective who uses disguises and an executive who studies the impact of viewing television in addition to Carlisle's own son in disguise. This episode also will air on April 22 at 3:30 AM/ET.

Tuesday, April 24 at 2:00 PM ET -- Kitty Carlisle and the rest of the panel react when they find out the food they are eating is made from dog food. The host is Garry Moore and other panelists include Bill Cullen, Gene Rayburn and Peggy Cass. Guests featured were a college student who makes "gourmet" dishes for humans with dog food and the winner of the world's richest demolition derby. Originally aired in 1973.

Wednesday, April 25 at 2:00 PM ET -- This is the first episode of the 1990s version of "To Tell the Truth." Host Gordon Elliott pays honor to the fact that Kitty Carlisle's name is so closely associated with the show. Other panelists included David Niven, Jr., Gloria Loring and Lynn Swann. Guests included the 1st Miss USSR and a man who crossed the United States in a covered wagon. Originally aired in 1990.

Thursday, April 26 at 2:00 PM ET -- Kitty Carlisle misidentifies a female impersonator as the woman who wrote "Queen of Burlesque." The host is Gordon Elliott and other panelists include David Niven, Jr., Gloria Loring and Lynn Swann. Guests include a stripper who wrote "Queen of Burlesque" and a man who is the founder of "Midnight Basketball." Originally aired in 1990.

Friday, April 27 at 2:00 PM ET -- This is the last episode of the 1990s version of "To Tell the Truth." Mark Goodson makes a guest appearance. The host is Alex Trebek and panelists were Kitty Carlisle, Mother Love, Orson Bean and Ron Masak. Guests include a man who has appeared in several movies and commercials in a gorilla suit and a teacher who is the author of "Together We're Better."
