17-Year Industry Veteran Assumes Expanded Role as Lionsgate Continues to Grow Its Motion Picture Distribution Pipeline

/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- David Spitz, an 11-year veteran of Lionsgate (NYSE:LGF) and its predecessor companies, has been named Executive Vice President & General Sales Manager of Theatrical Domestic Distribution for the Company as the leading independent filmed entertainment studio continues to grow its annual portfolio of motion picture releases, it was announced today by Lionsgate Theatrical Films President Tom Ortenberg and Lionsgate Theatrical Distribution President Steve Rothenberg, to whom he reports.

Spitz, part of the motion picture management team responsible for the successful distribution of recent box office hits such as SAW III, CRANK, EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH and THE DESCENT, will continue to work closely with Rothenberg and Ortenberg on selection of release dates, strategic release patterns and oversight of national settlements and collections for Lionsgate's theatrical slate, which has recently grown to 18-20 feature films annually, including approximately 15 wide releases a year. Spitz will also continue to work closely with Lionsgate's marketing team in planning and executing integrated marketing and distribution strategies.
