Fulbright: The Man, The Mission & The Message

'In the work he did, the words he spoke, in the life he lived, Bill Fulbright stood against the 20th Century's most destructive forces and fought to advance the brightest hopes.'

WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON, 42nd U.S. President

NEW YORK, March 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, March 14th at the Rosenthal Pavillion, Kimmel Center at New York University at 6pm, the J. William & Harriet Fulbright Center with supporters: the Business Council Of International Understanding, the World Trade Centers Association, the Billion Minds Foundation and the Fulbright Association, Greater New York City Chapter present a private premiere screening of the film -- Fulbright: the Man, the Mission & the Message. A VIP dinner will follow the screening and reception at the Harvard Club.

The premiere screening event will be attended by U.N. Ambassadors, Political and Diplomatic Dignitaries as well as International Scholars and Educators. The event is hosted by Harriet Fulbright, the widow of Senator Fulbright who founded the J. William & Harriet Fulbright Center headquartered at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington DC. The Center is a non profit 501(c)3 entity that supports essential programming promoting world peace and non-violent means of resolving conflicts through education, interaction and engagement.

The documentary film that has taken ten years to put together and is scheduled to be featured in screenings around the globe is a powerful view of Senator J. William Fulbright, one of the leading statesmen and thinkers ever to serve the U.S. Senate. Bill Fulbright's resolution established the United Nations after World War II. The Fulbright Program which he formed has produced more than 300,000 scholars internationally including former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan and the current U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon among many countless leaders in every field imaginable. The film opens and closes with former President Clinton who considered Bill Fulbright his mentor and was given his first job in politics by the late Senator.

The J. William & Harriet Fulbright Center has most recently partnered with the Business Council of International Understanding in an effort to publish the international magazine, "The Fulbright Way" which will feature Fulbright Scholars worldwide as contributing writers and the readership will reach global leadership at the highest levels. International Forums and Think Tanks promoting Cultural Understanding and World Peace are in development as a natural extension of "The Fulbright Way" with goals to take Senator Fulbright's vision of World Peace which is more relevant today than ever before to the next level.
