Navio Announces Licensing and Merchandising Agreement With IODA

IODA's 800,000-track catalog of over 3,500 IODA independent labels from around the globe will now be available 'at the edges of the network' through Navio's commerce services

CUPERTINO, Calif., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Navio Systems, Inc. (www.navio.com), the leading provider of rights-based digital commerce solutions, announced today that it has signed a licensing and merchandising agreement with the IODA (www.iodalliance.com), the global leader in digital distribution, marketing, and technology solutions for the independent music industry. Navio will distribute and merchandise IODA content through its suite of services, including web and mobile commerce venues, white label storefronts, rewards and redemption programs, and direct-to-consumer services.

IODA represents a rapidly expanding roster of over 800,000 tracks from more than 3,500 independent labels worldwide. The IODA catalog ranges from established classics to modern up-and-comers in all genres, including favorites such as Mac Dre, Blackalicious, Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz, London Symphony Orchestra, Jimi Hendrix, Fall Out Boy, Broken Social Scene, Cat Power, Aventura, Jamie Cullum, Heartland, Willie Nelson, Seu Jorge, and Ravi Shankar.

As more entertainment products -- from music and videos, to games and ringtones -- are being delivered online, digital content has moved beyond being simply bought, downloaded, and played on consumers' favorite devices, to becoming the currency of the web. Content owners need greater flexibility and capability to take advantage of this trend, in order to monetize their digital content outside of traditional web storefronts. As these digital content options proliferate, consumers need better capability to track and manage their digital assets. Navio's unique transactional model, combined with a feature-rich digital locker, powers current and emerging content commerce strategies -- from buying, to sharing and gifting, to sponsored redemption sites.

"We are delighted to add IODA's rich and diverse catalog of content from independent labels to Navio's ever growing community of digital content providers," said Stefan Roever, Navio's chief executive officer and founder. "This comprehensive addition to our content catalog will provide our customers with more selection than ever."

"IODA is pleased to offer our labels and artists new opportunities and services that leverage Navio's far-reaching, innovative distribution channels and top-notch commerce platform," said Tim Mitchell, VP of Marketing for IODA. "We look forward to working closely with Navio's team to creatively merchandise our labels' digital and mobile music so that we can reach music fans wherever they are in the digital world."
