Young Hopefuls Gathered for a Shot at Landing Agency Representation
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Children from all over Southern California gathered on Saturday, February 3rd to audition for top Talent Agents and Managers for their chance to land representation. Fifty-Five of the Hollywood Group's young actors attended a Talent Showcase and performed either a commercial or monologue for a panel of six of Hollywood's top agents. The agents in attendance have represented some of Hollywood's most notable young stars such as Hilary Duff, Christina Milian, Tobey McGuire, Efren Ramirez, and many more. They were excited about the talent they saw at The Hollywood Group, and look forward to adding fresh, young talent to their departments.
This opportunity, provided by The Hollywood Group, allows children between the ages of 5-17 to perform an original script in front of agents and managers, who are responsible for sending talent on auditions for speaking roles in film, television, and commercials. The talent at the showcase was outstanding. The children who participated in the showcase have completed acting workshops, many of which are geared towards auditioning and booking acting jobs. Most of the kids who auditioned have done previous work as background actors and are now seeking to progress into principal roles. Background work is very important to actors and provides a stepping-stone to higher levels in the business.
The Hollywood Group's kids are provided with invaluable exposure to top entertainment industry professionals who evaluate them and determine whether they are interested in representing them. Many of the Hollywood Group's kids have gone on to star in numerous feature films and television series, as well as national commercials. Some recent projects its members have worked on include: "You, Me and Dupree," "Dreamgirls," "Freedom Writers," "Night at the Museum," "The Holiday," "Zoey 101," "24," "Grey's Anatomy," "Suite Life of Zach and Cody," "What About Brian," "My Name is Earl," "Frosted Flakes," "AT&T," "Cheerios," "Pizza Hut," "Fed Ex" and "Honda."
Without a friend or family member in Hollywood, it's almost impossible to get started in the industry. The Hollywood Group's program was designed by a team of professionals to help prepare every child that has the desire and ambition to work in the world of entertainment. The Hollywood Group's next Talent Showcase is slated for March 31st, 2007.
