Katie Couric Will Anchor the 'CBS EVENING NEWS' From Chicago on April 27
The American Cancer Society of Illinois Welcomes Couric as Guest of Honor at Discovery Ball
CHICAGO, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Katie Couric will anchor the CBS EVENING NEWS from Chicago on Friday, April 27. This marks the first time the broadcast will originate from Chicago since its debut in September 2006.
CBS 2 Chicago will welcome Couric as she serves as the guest of honor at the American Cancer Society's inaugural Discovery Ball in Chicago where she will address an audience of 1100 people. Couric has dedicated herself to many important organizations supporting the fight against cancer, and in 2006 the American Cancer Society awarded Couric with the Medal of Honor, the highest award bestowed by the organization, for her remarkable efforts in awareness and education.
Since its debut, in Chicago the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH KATIE COURIC is up +9% in total viewers, +13% in households and up +14% in the target demo of adults 25-54, season-to-date.
Rome Hartman is the executive producer of the CBS EVENING NEWS. Joe Ahern is the President and General Manager of WBBM-TV/Chicago. The CBS EVENING NEWS airs weeknights at 5:30 PM CT on CBS 2.
