SUPERVALU Rolls Out Redbox(TM) DVD Rental Kiosks
SUPERVALU and Redbox to Offer Customers $1 Per Night Movie Rentals
MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SUPERVALU (NYSE:SVU) announced today that it will roll out redbox fully automated DVD rental kiosks to its Acme, Albertsons, bigg's, Farm Fresh, Hornbacher's, Jewel-Osco, Scott's Food & Pharmacy, Shaw's, Shop 'n Save and Shoppers Food & Pharmacy banners, as well as to hundreds of the independent retailers it serves through its Supply Chain Services business. The redbox DVD rental kiosks enable customers to use a touch screen to select a movie and pay with a credit or debit card.

The agreement with redbox, the nation's leader in automated DVD rental services, follows a successful pilot in several SUPERVALU banners and locations.

Each fully automated redbox DVD rental kiosk holds more than 500 DVDs, representing more than 70 of the newest movie releases, with new titles available every Tuesday. Consumers simply use a touch screen to select their favorite movies, swipe a valid credit or debit card and go. Customers can keep the DVD for as long as they'd like for $1 per night plus tax, and return their DVD to any redbox kiosk nationwide.
