The L.A. Studios, Inc. Launches Key Strategic Initiative; Former Disney Director Creates New Office at the LA Studios

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The L.A. Studios, Inc. announced today the formation of a strategic association with award-winning Dialogue Director Jamie Thomason. Thomason's decorated career includes creating the casting division for Walt Disney Television Animation and building it into the gold standard of the animation industry. Thomason has amassed an extraordinary list of credits including over 40 animated films and well over 2,000 episodes of animated television as the former Head of Casting and Dialogue Director of DisneyToon Studios.

"Working with an industry expert like Jamie in our office at L.A. Studios presents a unique opportunity for the company," says the L.A. Studios Inc. CEO Aric Ackerman. Thomason's casting and dialogue directing services will now, for the first time, be available to all L.A. Studios clients. Ackerman adds, "Jamie is an A-List dialogue director and is a perfect fit with us." Former L.A. Studios Inc. President Jessie P. Meli was instrumental in assembling the alliance.

Some of Thomason's highlights include the Oscar-winning Best Animated Feature, "Spirited Away" and the Academy Award nominated animated short "Redux Riding Hood." In addition, Thomason's television work has earned him an Emmy Award for Disney's "Teacher's Pet" along with seven Emmy nominations. Thomason just wrapped production at the L.A. Studios as the Dialogue Director for "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3," an animated feature set for release in March.

Since opening his office in October 2006, Thomason has been working on a variety of projects for Disney, Imagi Entertainment, Warner Brothers, The Weinstein Company, SONY, MTV and HIT entertainment in London. Thomason will maintain a studio at the company's Universal City location.
