SpotDJ Gives iPods a Voice

SpotDJ Gives iPods a Voice

Now Bands, DJs and Fans Can Speak Directly Through Their iPods

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- SpotDJ today announced support for Apple's iPod, enabling direct-to-device delivery and simple integration of voice clips into the listening experience. SpotDJ offers iPod listeners an enhanced listening experience, as people can now hear "spots," or short snippets of audio from friends and favorite artists, while listening to music.

"SpotDJ brings the voice of bands, DJs and fans directly to listeners, adding relevant audio clips while people listen to music," said Kevin Barenblat, co-founder and CEO of SpotDJ. "Now on SpotDJ people can hear Taylor Hicks talking about American Idol, Ben Fong-Torres speaking with The Doors' Jim Morrison, and one of the users inviting all her SpotDJ fans to Austin for South by Southwest."

Listeners are creating their own radio by adding personality and the human element back into listening to music. For each song SpotDJ queries its database of unique audio content, and when the song ends SpotDJ plays the most interesting and relevant audio spot based on user preferences and listening habits. Spots that users enjoy listening to in media players such as iTunes can now be taken to go on their iPod, and users' playlists are different every time they sync.
