TV One Adds More Than One Million Subscribers in December, Launches in Key Markets in December 2006 and January 2007
SILVER SPRING, Md., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- TV One added more than one million new subscriber households in December 2006, according to Nielsen Media Research universe estimates, growing from 33.8 million households to nearly 34.9 from December 2006 to January 2007. TV One increased its subscriber base by 42 percent from January 2006 - January 2007, maintaining its #1 rank in distribution year-to-year percentage growth among all Nielsen measured cable networks, adding 10.3 million households during the period.
In December, TV One launched on basic cable on Comcast's cable system in Memphis, as well as on Comcast systems in Grand Rapids, MI, Tucson, AZ, Taos, NM, Gallup, NM, Silver City, NM and Lawrenceburg, TN. TV One also launched in December on Time Warner Cable systems in Greensboro, NC and Columbia, SC and on Buckeye Cablevision's Toledo, OH cable system. So far in January, TV One has launched on Comcast systems in Minneapolis, MN, as well as on the Time Warner Cable system in Akron, OH.
