Telanetix Ships New Digital Presence Screening Station
Company Upgrades Existing Installations and Receives Orders for Additional Customer Sites
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Telanetix, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: TNXI) a leading developer of telepresence technology announced today that it has begun shipping its new Telepresence Screening Stations designed specifically for telepresence and workstation applications in the entertainment industry. The Screening Station allows directors, editors, producers and others in the feature film industry to simultaneously view high quality video content from remote locations while engaged in a telepresence conference using the same system and network. Telanetix Telepresence systems shipped for this application in 2006 were automatically updated with the new features, and the Company has received orders for two additional fully featured systems.
"The Telanetix Screening Stations have been invaluable throughout the post production process of our current feature film The Feast of Love starring Morgan Freeman and Greg Kinnear," said Richard Wright, Head of Production at Lakeshore Entertainment Group. "Our production has been using the Screening Station features in our locations in New York and Beverly Hills on a regular basis, significantly reducing the time and expense of travel between the locations, and without sacrificing the quality of the meetings or the work product."
"The flexibility of the Telanetix platform allows us to enhance and modify systems to meet the specific needs of our customer's applications," added Rob Arnold, Telanetix Chief Technology Officer. "The feature set added to create the Screening Stations allows users in the entertainment industry to work in disparate locations with the same effectiveness and with the same tools and interaction they would have if they were sitting physically in the same room. Our platform retains a critical element of telepresence by allowing customers to work in their own environment and with their own tools."
Telanetix Screening Stations are available in two and four screen configurations and are capable of multipoint communication with up to nine locations simultaneously.
