About Orion Cable:
Following the acquisition of the Level 4 companies Tele
Columbus in November 2006 and ewt in spring 2005, Orion Cabel is today the
largest Level 4 cable network operator on the German market. Overall, the
acquisition of Tele Columbus covered approximately 1.8 million serviceable
households and 1.5 million customers, primarily in the major catchment areas
of Tele Columbus in Berlin-Brandenburg, Hanover, Hamburg and Dresden.
Calculating into the equation the activities of the ewt Group yields a figure
of around 3.5 million households nationwide supplied via Level 4, and 1.2
million households supplied by Tele Columbus and ewt, including via Level 3.
Moreover, since August 2006 Orion Cable has held 26.7 percent of the
shares in PrimaCom AG, a publicly listed company, that it acquired from
Liberty Media. PrimaCom AG provides a broad range of analogue, digital and
interactive cable network services, and in Germany it is the most experienced
cable network operator in the digital domain. Customers with a connection to
the upgraded 862 MHz broadband cable network have access to more than 100 TV
and radio programs, high-speed internet services and telephony offerings.
PrimaCom caters for the needs of around 1.0 million customers in Germany.
Orion Cable GmbH is a subsidiary of Escaline Sarl, whose
shareholders include Kingsbridge, Aletheia Partners, ABN AMRO and the Stritzl
family, with private investors being the largest shareholder.
