Tablet Hotels and Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica Offer Exclusive Screening of 'God Grew Tired of Us'

NEW YORK, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Tablet Hotels, (www.tablethotels.com), the authoritative guide for world travelers in search of unique hotel experiences, in a partnership with Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica, is inviting 100 of their registered users who reside in the Los Angeles area to an exclusive, private screening of the film "God Grew Tired of Us". The film will be shown in the hotel's Luna Room on the Penthouse Level on Wednesday, January 17th, at 7pm. The invitation will be sent out exclusively to Tablet Hotels' registered users on Tuesday, January 16th. The first 100 registered users to RSVP to the email address provided in the newsletter will be secured a spot at the screening. Each guest will be required to bring $15 to the screening, $10 will go directly to www.directchange.org, and the remaining $5 will cover parking fees for the hotel.

Released in New York and Los Angeles this past weekend by Newmarket Films, and opening in additional cities on January 19th, "God Grew Tired of Us" (www.godgrewtiredofus.com) is an enlightening, inspiring, deeply moving documentary with a long list of producers, including Brad Pitt, Dermot Mulroney, and Catherine Keener. The film follows three young men, John Bul Dau, Daniel Abol Pach, and Panther Blor, on their journey from a refugee camp in Kakuma, Kenya to their re-settlement in the United States. As young children John, Daniel, and Panther were among the over 25,000 mostly young male refugees who earned the name "The Lost Boys of Sudan" after walking 1000 miles across the sub-Saharan desert, surviving bombings and attacks by lions and hyenas, to escape Sudan's brutal civil war. Among the lucky 3,400 to be offered new lives in the U.S., these 3 "lost boys' go to college while holding 2 or 3 jobs, sending nearly all of their money back to Africa for the medical care of the friends and family they left behind.

Laurent Vernhes, CEO of Tablet Hotels, said, "I am proud that Tablet Hotels is able to do something for 'God Grew Tired of Us', which I found both incredibly heartbreaking and heartwarming. Everybody who is exposed to this documentary will be inspired by the men whose lives it chronicles, and it is no surprise that Newmarket films and everyone at the Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica made this partnership so easy. I trust that our registered members are the kind of people who will get the word to more people, which will ultimately contribute to bringing more support to the lost boys of Sudan and their families."
