Great States Convention Announces Name Change and Strategic Partnership With Boxoffice Magazine

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- NATO of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan today announced that the Great States Theatres Convention has been officially renamed The Geneva Convention and will expand its partnership with Boxoffice Magazine. The convention, the third largest U.S. convention in the exhibition industry, will be held May 8 through 10, 2007 at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, an hour north of Chicago and an hour south of Milwaukee.

"The new name marks the return of the convention to its permanent home, the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva. The Geneva Convention will focus on exhibitors from throughout the Midwest so we thought it was appropriate to select a name that reflects this emphasis. Boxoffice Magazine, now the official trade association publication of NATO and the convention's media partner, will position the Geneva Convention as the industry's kick off event for the very important summer season," said Bruce Olson, co-chair of the Geneva Theatre Convention and president of Marcus Theatres Corporation.

"Boxoffice Magazine is very pleased to become the media partner of the Geneva Convention. By teaming with the Geneva Convention we will be able to bring all of the resources of our combined organizations to create an event that will become one of the preeminent gatherings in the exhibition industry," said Peter Cane, publisher of Boxoffice Magazine.

As part of this expanded partnership, the 2007 convention will feature three Boxoffice Panel Discussions on May 9 and May 10. As part of the conference, leading industry expert, Paul Kagan, will moderate panel discussions on pressing issues in the industry.

On May 9 the convention will host a gala dinner and awards ceremony that will honor achievements in exhibition, distribution, technology and production.

As at past Conventions, the rechristened Geneva Convention event will include a look at upcoming films, exclusive screenings, demonstrations of new technology and industry vendors participating in the large tradeshow.
