Gov. Mike Huckabee to Hit National Airwaves
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Former Governor Mike Huckabee (Ark.), who officially left public office on Monday, will be a guest on several national TV shows to discuss politics, current events and his new book, following an appearance on MSNBC's 'Imus in the Morning' Show earlier today.

On Tuesday, the governor kicked off a national book tour for his new book, "From Hope to Higher Ground: 12 STOPS to Restoring America's Greatness." The book went on sale last week.
Named by Governing Magazine as the "Public Official of the Year" in 2005 and by Time Magazine's "Top Five Governors," Gov. Huckabee has held several national leadership positions, including serving as chairman of 50-state bipartisan National Governors Association, the prestigious Education Commission of the States, the Southern Governors' Association, and the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact. During the 2006 election, he campaigned on behalf of state and local GOP candidates, organizations and causes in 26 states. He was recently ranked No. 5 on National Journal's survey of 2008 GOP presidential contenders.
Huckabee, a Baptist minister and former pastor, became Arkansas' 44th Governor in 1996 when Gov. Jim Guy Tucker resigned. In 1998, he was elected to a full four-year term and he was re-elected in 2002. Huckabee was prevented by term limits from seeking a third term in 2006.
