Pennsylvania's Groundhog and Shadow Produce Third Independent Film

Pennsylvania's Groundhog and Shadow Produce Third Independent Film

GroundhogCrossing.com Launches, Leading up to Groundhog Day

HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania's infamous Groundhog and Shadow are at it again.

Having recently completed work on a third independent film to be released online as a series of vignettes in the weeks leading up to Groundhog Day, Feb. 2, Groundhog and Shadow will appear in the film's first segment today, exclusively, at http://www.groundhogcrossing.com/.

Additional installments of the film will premiere each week until the 2007 celebration in Punxsutawney, PA.

The first vignette introduces this year's much-anticipated plotline. Although details of the story remain a closely guarded secret, a spokesperson said "Groundhog Crossing" finds Shadow leaving his Punxsutawney home to set out on a journey around the world, with Groundhog in hot pursuit.

"In some ways, it's your typical 'buddies on a road trip' story, ending, of course, back in Punxsy (sic) with the annual weather prediction ceremony," said Mickey Rowley, the film's official spokesperson and deputy secretary for the Pennsylvania Tourism Office. "Be prepared for a few plot twists -- getting to Feb. 2 will be anything but predictable, no pun intended. But the film can end only one of two ways: 6 more weeks of winter, or spring just around the corner."

Groundhog and Shadow have garnered international attention since their first film - an action-packed series of chase sequences - appeared on GroundhogChase.com. Their second film spoofed the cult movie classic "The Shining" at Groundhog202.com.

The 2007 Groundhog Day celebration will take place in Punxsutawney, Feb. 1-3. For more information about the Groundhog Day celebration, the town of Punxsutawney, and other exciting events occurring in Pennsylvania, go to http://www.visitpa.com/.
