DTE Energy Music Theatre Leads in 2006 Attendance

Palace Sports & Entertainment Listed Among Year's Top Promoters

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy Music Theatre topped the 2006 year-end amphitheatre attendance charts of Billboard and Pollstar, marking the 16th consecutive year it has been listed first by a national entertainment trade publication. This dates back to 1991, the first summer the outdoor facility was owned and operated by Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E). PS&E's high-ranking 2006 concert attendance numbers also garnered the organization a #13 ranking out of the 100 Top Promoters in Pollstar's year-end chart.

The chart-topping summer of 2006 saw DTE Energy Music Theatre venue host 77 events, including 17 sellouts, and more than 830,000 in attendance.

According to the 2006 Top 100 tour charts of Pollstar, PS&E's three Michigan venues - The Palace, DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival - combined to host 50 of North America's top 100 tours (list of 50 included shows attached).

In addition to the 50 top tours the organization hosted in 2006, five additional tours on the Pollstar Top 100 Tours list have announced dates at The Palace during their 2007 tour legs: Cirque du Soleil - "Delirium" on January 24, 25 and 27 (#5 on the top 100 list), Billy Joel on May 4 (#11), Eric Clapton on April 5 (#33), Blue Man Group on March 24 (#55) and Andre Rieu on May 20 (#49).

"We are proud to have been able to bring a majority of the biggest concert acts touring in 2006 to our area's concert fans and we are thankful -- as always -- for their continued patronage in nationally-recognized numbers," said PS&E President and CEO Tom Wilson. "With several of 2006's top tours already booked at The Palace for 2007, we are off to a great start to provide another big year for concert lovers in this area."

The organization's lofty concert status was recognized by Pollstar as the magazine has nominated Executive Vice President of Booking/Marketing Marilyn Hauser for Facility Executive of the Year in its annual Concert Industry Polls. Subscribers to the publication will vote and the winner will be announced on February 8.

Additionally, The Palace was listed as the sixth highest grossing facility of any type in the 15,001-30,000 seat category in the year-end charts of Venues Today entertainment trade publication and was listed as the 11th most- attended U.S. arena in Pollstar's Top 100 Arenas chart for 2006. The Palace finished the year by hosting its most significant concert event in 10 years when Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band returned to his hometown for four sold out shows on December 20, 22, 28 and 30.

Meadow Brook Music Festival, on the campus of Oakland University, which is roughly half the capacity of DTE Energy Music Theatre, made its mark on Pollstar's 2006 Top 100 Amphitheatres chart with a #53 ranking.

PS&E ownership includes The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre, as well as the management of Meadow Brook Music Festival on the campus of Oakland University. Combined, PS&E's Michigan venues average 300 events and 3.5 million guests annually.

The Palace has been voted Arena of the Year eight times by Performance magazine, twice by Pollstar magazine and is listed annually among North America's top-grossing arenas. Voted "Best Outdoor Concert Venue" in Pollstar's 2000 Readers' Poll, DTE Energy Music Theatre has been listed as the nation's most attended amphitheater by Amusement Business/Billboard each of the 16 years of PS&E ownership.

PS&E also owns the leasehold rights to the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida. The venue is a 1999 and 2004 recipient of the Prime Site Award by Facilities & Event Management magazine and is one of North America's top- grossing arenas annually.
