Comcast Invites New Jersey to Bundle Up and Share Some Warmth for Winter

Comcast to Donate New Coats to United Ways of New Jersey For Every Triple Play Bundle Order Placed in February

EAST WINDSOR, N.J., Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Cable of New Jersey today announced that it will donate thousands of new coats to help New Jersey's homeless and others in need stay warmer this winter. For the entire month of February, Comcast will donate a new coat for every Triple Play bundle order placed throughout the Garden State.

From February 1 through February 28, Comcast will track all new bundle sales and a donation of coats will be made in early March in partnership with United Way and its designated charities throughout New Jersey. In addition, Comcast will place drop-boxes in payment centers and administrative offices throughout the state where employees and customers can donate new or gently used coats. Comcast will match these donations with up to 1,000 additional new coats.

"Comcast has always been dedicated to investing in and enriching the communities in which we live and work," said Greg Arnold, regional senior vice president, Comcast Cable New Jersey. "Our 'Bundle up and Share the Warmth' promotion gives our customers and employees an easy and rewarding way to give back to our local communities."

The Triple Play bundle is available to new customers and includes Digital Cable with ON DEMAND, Comcast High Speed Internet and Comcast Digital Voice for $33 each per month for 12 months. Existing video customers can also sign up for Comcast High Speed Internet or Comcast Digital Voice for $33 per month for 12 months.

Comcast will communicate its "Bundle up and Share the Warmth" coat donation pledge through advertising, direct marketing, and customer and employee communications. Additionally, United Ways of New Jersey will communicate the opportunity to and through their local members and partner organizations.

Comcast expects to donate thousands of coats across New Jersey. Coat drop-offs will be scheduled for early March and will be distributed throughout the more than 300 communities Comcast serves in New Jersey.

"We are so appreciative of Comcast's contributions to United Way," said Craig Lafferty, CEO of United Way, Greater Mercer County chapter. "Collecting coats for the homeless is absolutely critical this time of year, and this drive will help ensure that our local charities can help people in need throughout the state. Comcast has been a long-time supporter of United Way, and we are delighted to partner on this special program."

Comcast Cable employs more than 4,650 people in New Jersey, and in early January announced that it will hire an additional 750 employees in 2007. Its New Jersey Region contributes more than $2 million annually through hundreds of local partnerships, grants and free wiring of more than 2,000 schools and libraries in New Jersey. Last year, more than 800 Comcast New Jersey employees and their friends and family members donated more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service through 18 projects throughout the state as part of its annual Comcast Cares Day volunteer service initiative.
