Zeromind, First Band to Have Social Network Website
Band's Official Website Is First of Its Kind - Starting an Internet-Savvy Trend in Rock
SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- San Francisco-based rock band, Zeromind, launched an all new social network website, http://www.zeromind.com/, leading a new generation of band websites. No rock band in history has so far launched a website quite like this one.
Although the site appears much like MySpace, http://www.zeromind.com/ does have its advantages over the guru of all SNS sites. Instead of the 136- million-and-growing number of strangers belonging to MySpace, http://www.zeromind.com/ has a much more modest number of participants who all, guaranteed, have one big thing in common: Zeromind. The band's SNS site was developed to create a sense of family among fans, so they can comfortably interact with each other and the band, which so far, has kicked off with a bang.
The site is designed so that each member who joins creates a profile, and can post comments and blogs, send mail, invite friends and change pictures while sharing the commonality of being a Zeromind fan. Each profile lists information pertaining to the band itself, such as which Zeromind albums each fan owns, which live shows they have attended, and what type of merchandise they proudly parade. Fans can even engage in conversations with the Zeromind band members themselves, via the homepage bulletin board, which is active with comments.
Although the site is still enduring testing and improvements, it is a hit among fans, and could very well be the beginning of a new trend, as fans are able to communicate with bands more closely, and relate to fans in a fun and active way. This communication is not restricted to fans on U.S. soil - Zeromind's SNS site is actually bilingual. Since Zeromind's fanbase in Japan is so large, they opted to cater to their fans overseas - the official site's homepage allows for fans to enter a Japanese version of the site, where all text appears in Japanese characters.
The Zeromind members are all proud to call the first bilingual SNS site that belongs to a band their own. Eric Henderson, vocalist for Zeromind, says, "It has not been done before and we are fortunate to be able to bring it to our fans first."
More on Zeromind:
Zeromind's magnetism is hard to resist - just ask production legend Dave Schiffman (System of a Down, Nine Inch Nails) who recently finished producing the band's new album, "What's in Your Mind," due out early next year. San Francisco's Zeromind has performed alongside Megadeth, Slayer, Dio, Anthrax, Flyleaf, Ministry, and many more at Japan's largest heavy rock festival, Loud Park '06. Zeromind was voted #1 on Powercast Radio for best song just recently, has video rotation on MTV Japan, and is currently working on another project, so stay tuned.
