Nearly Three Fourths of Employees Polled are Job Hunting

More than 75 percent of employees are looking for new jobs. This is according to the four hundred sixty two employees and three hundred sixty seven H-R professionals surveyed in the 2006 U-S Job Retention Poll released by the Society for Human Resource Management and The Wall Street Journal's CareerJournal.com. According to HR professionals, on average, 12 percent of their organizations' workforce had voluntarily resigned since the beginning of 2006. Non-management employees were the most likely to resign, according to 71 percent of the H-R professionals surveyed.

Scientists Find Dozens of New Species in Borneo Rainforests

At least 52 new species of animals and plants have been identified this past year on the island of Borneo, according to scientists. The discoveries, described in a report compiled by W-W-F, include 30 unique fish species, two tree frog species, 16 ginger species, three tree species and one large-leafed plant species. W-W-F says that these findings further highlight the need to conserve the habitat and species of the world's third largest island.
