Teen Drug Use Declines 23 Percent in Five Years

Teen drug use has declined by twenty-three percent since 2001 for eighth, tenth and twelfth graders combined, with reductions in the use of nearly every drug in every drug prevalence category, according to the University of Michigan's 2006 Monitoring the Future study. This translates into approximately eight-hundred-forty-thousand fewer youth using illicit drugs in 2006 than in 2001. These reductions represent a nearly exact achievement of President Bush's goal of reducing youth drug use by twenty-five percent by 2006. Reductions in illicit drug use among eighth and tenth graders exceeded the President's goal, falling thirty and twenty-six percent since 2001, respectively.

The study also shows that while marijuana continues to be the most commonly used illicit drug among teens, current use of marijuana has dropped by twenty-five percent over the past five years.

Fifteen families moved into their new, fully-furnished homes in Baton Rouge, just in time for Christmas.

World Renowned Multi Talented Artist Prince in Talks to Launch 3121 Magazine

In case Prince's music career doesn't quite pan out or he just grows tired of overseeing the activities of the hottest club to hit the Las Vegas scene, 'thirty-one-twenty-one,' at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, fans have no need to worry about what would be in store for the artist who has been feverishly taking over the valley with his late night, high energy musical escapades. It seems Prince is dabbling in the world of publishing.

The new 31-21 magazine, in development now, will feature interviews with musicians and exclusive photos taken by Prince. Currently on location shooting publicity shots for a new singer he is working with, Prince will be back in Vegas to ring in the new year at 31-21.
