Breakthrough Band Launches First-Ever Headlining Tour With Openers Cobra Starship and Boys Like Girls

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- House of Blues(R), a Live Nation brand, is pleased to partner with Energizer(R), the battery-maker committed to helping music devices keep going, in presenting the first headlining tour for Epic recording artists Cartel. Featured on the bill will be Cobra Starship and Boys Like Girls. Permanent Me, Quietdrive and New Atlantic will also share some dates on the tour. The highly anticipated road jaunt kicks off February 7 at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, Connecticut.

The Atlanta-based Cartel, recently highlighted as a "Breaking Band" in Rolling Stone, is generating serious buzz thanks to the success of Epic debut CHROMA and hit lead single "Honestly." As the song's companion video garners heavy airplay on MTV, MTV2 and Fuse, the quintet -- dubbed "A Band You Need To Know" by Alternative Press -- has blanketed the internet, winning Yahoo! Music's "Who's Next" competition, nabbing the AOL Music Breaker Spotlight and racking up more than five million streams on MySpace. In addition, the band recently received an mtvU Woodie Award nomination, spent the summer on the Warped Tour, made their national TV debut on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and appears on the soundtrack to the mega-popular video game, "Madden NFL '07." They also recently wrapped a string of dates with New Found Glory. The Energizer-sponsored tour will mark Cartel's first on-the-road experience as a headliner.
