Families Participated in Various Holiday Inspired Activities and Were Treated to Special Performances by Pasadena's Own Skating Troupe, The Rose City Crystals

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern California families celebrated the holidays today at a magical event held exclusively in Los Angeles, Kohl's Winter Wonderland, presented by Kohl's in an impressive 80x80-foot tent built especially for the occasion in front of Kohl's Department Store in West Hills, CA.

Families were invited to attend and participate in a variety of festive activities including ice-skating, kids' crafts and a Dress Like an Elf Contest, judged by special celebrity guests Tori Spelling and Joey Lawrence.

Tori Hightower, 5 1/2, from Woodland Hills, CA, won the grand prize and a $200 Kohl's gift card, in the Dress Like an Elf Contest for children. Nine additional contest winners received special gifts from Kohl's. The list of children who won included:

"I am thrilled to have judged the Dress Like An Elf Contest with Joey Lawrence," said Tori Spelling. "Kohl's Winter Wonderland was a great way to spend the afternoon, celebrating the holiday season with adorable, holiday elves and Los Angeles-area families."

The Rose City Crystals, a synchronized ice-skating team from Pasadena, California, were also on hand participating in the festivities. Comprised of 19 girls between the ages of 12 and 17, the team dazzled the crowd with holiday-inspired performances on a custom ice rink built exclusively for the occasion.

Children who attended Kohl's Winter Wonderland decorated ornaments throughout the day and placed them on a ten-food evergreen, donated by Kohl's following the event to Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), a philanthropy that empowers inner city youth to advance their lives and revitalize their communities through enrichment, personal development and leadership programs.

Kohl's Winter Wonderland was the second of two consumer events in Los Angeles celebrating the season-inspired theme, Love Transforms Everything. The events, Kohl's Holiday Sandman and Kohl's Winter Wonderland, were both designed to bring the full holiday experience to Southern California during the month of December. Kohl's Holiday Sandman was held Saturday, December 2, 2006 on the beach in Santa Monica, CA.
