Two More Utah, Idaho Cable Companies Add the mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network

More Cougar and Utes Fans Can Cheer for Their Favorite Teams

DENVER, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- More sports fans in Utah and Idaho can now watch their favorite Mountain West Conference (MWC) college teams this weekend thanks to new carriage agreements announced today by the MountainWest Sports Network, known as "the mtn.," on Saratoga Cable in Utah and Project Mutual Telephone (PMT) in Idaho.

The two providers are the latest to add the mtn. to their lineups. PMT is adding the mtn. on channel 21 as part of its basic package, and Saratoga is featuring it on channel 45 as part of its basic plus package. Saratoga launched the mtn. on November 1 and PMT launched on October 25.

With these additions, sports fans in Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming can see the mtn. on 136 cable systems served by 15 separate providers. The network is being made available on comparable terms to additional cable and satellite providers with the goal of serving as many fans as possible. The mtn., the first sports network dedicated solely to an intercollegiate athletic conference, delivers blanket coverage of MWC athletics and was launched on September 1, 2006.

"We work hard to provide our customers with the programming they want to see, and the mtn. is a valuable addition to our lineup for the sports fans we serve," said Charlie Creason, General Manager of PMT.

Steve King, General Manager of Saratoga Cable added, "We are pleased to be among the first providers to deliver the deepest, most thorough coverage of the Mountain West Conference to our customers."

"We welcome our new viewers, and in particular we know how much this means to fans of Utah and BYU served by these providers," said Kim Carver, Vice President and General Manager of the mtn. "We are thrilled to add PMT and Saratoga to our growing roster of distribution partners who are helping us bring fans more MWC games, news and analysis than has ever been available before."

The mtn. is bringing viewers MWC athletics across multiple sports. This year's preliminary schedule includes 165 games, including 30 football games, 75 men's basketball games, 23 women's basketball games, conference championships and men's and women's Olympic sports. Fans can also see coaches' shows, pre- and post-game analysis, and news about conference teams, players and more. The mtn. is jointly owned by Comcast and CSTV and managed by Comcast SportsNet.

The MWC is of the top collegiate conferences in the college sports arena, comprised of nine Division I-A institutions: Air Force Academy, Brigham Young University, Colorado State University, San Diego State University, TCU, UNLV, University of New Mexico, University of Utah and University of Wyoming.
