Jive Records and Three Days Grace Announce Winner of Eyespot Video Mixing Contest
Winners Integrate Band's Music and Videos With Their Own Content Resulting in Creative, High Quality and Personalized Online Music Videos
SAN DIEGO, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Eyespot Corp., developer of the easy-to-use video editing and remixing website, and popular rock band, Three Days Grace today announced the winner of the "Three Days Grace - Remix Our Music Video" video mixing contest. In conjunction with the band's label, Jive Records, Three Days Grace used Eyespot to engage fans in the promotion of their popular song "Animal I Have Become" by having them create music videos online. The winning video was selected by the band from more than 300 entries and along with the four runner up submissions are now featured on the band's and Eyespot's websites.
"This promotion with Eyespot exceeded our expectations on every level -- user experience, participation, and most of all passion exuded by the fans to submit compelling, creative and diverse user generated videos," said Jami Stigliano, Manager, Digital Marketing & Advertising, Zomba Label Group, which operates Jive Records. "Eyespot allowed us to engage the Three Days Grace fan base and give them the unique opportunity to participate in the music and visuals associated with it rather than just be served up the usual song and video via traditional outlets."
From August 28th, 2006 to October 5th, 2006, fans of the band were encouraged to make their own video mixes for the band's song "Animal I Have Become" through the online editing tools provided by Eyespot. In addition to the video clips, stills and music provided by Three Days Grace, the users also had access to Eyespot's online community for additional content as well as the Eyespot mixing tools which allows users to shorten a clip as well as add transitions and special effects. Users could also upload their own photos and video clips to mix into the video.
"Eyespot enabled Jive Records and Three Days Grace to quickly and easily tap into the powerful promotion capabilities of online video while allowing fans to create unique videos for the band," said David Todd, Vice President of Content and Marketing for Eyespot. "With a skating video, an Iraq cautionary tale, a rock tribute story -- the incredible results of this contest prove that fans are excited to actively participate and show off their creativity. All of the tools to produce a video are right there on the Eyespot site -- no complicated programs required."
The band chose the one winner and four runners up videos from more than 300 submissions. The winning submissions are:
