VDC.com to Launch AccuWeather Channel
NORTHBROOK, Ill., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- VDC.com and AccuWeather, based in State College, PA, today announced a distribution agreement to deliver a live AccuWeather television channel as part of the VDC.com channel lineup.
AccuWeather provides VDC's broadband television customers with 24-hour tracking of national weather conditions, forecasts and alerts, as well as original programming and expert commentary on extreme or historic weather events.
"Viewers depend upon AccuWeather's regular weather forecasts and critical updates. We're proud to provide VDC.com subscribers with such an essential service," said Jeff Rothschild, senior vice president of Program Acquisition. "Our customers will benefit from having the latest weather information available to them."
AccuWeather will be available tomorrow to VDC.com subscribers.
VDC.com or Virtual Digital Cable, is a linear television subscription service delivered via the Internet to personal computers.
AccuWeather joins the growing VDC line-up of live television channels including Al Jazeera English, Fashion Television, NASA, The Pentagon Channel, Shop NBC, QVC, The Associated Press, Democracy Now, The Soundtrack Channel and dozens of other linear cable television channels.
Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
