2Pac Fans Invited to Submit Videos, Artwork, Essays and Poems in Celebration of 2Pac and New Pac's Life Album

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of the life of Tupac Shakur, and the November release of the new album Pac's Life (Amaru/Interscope Records), a set of video, art, essay and poetry contests has been designed to bring together the 2Pac community.

Launched November 4th by Amaru/Interscope and technology partner KickApps, TupacContests.com is hosting the competitions centered on the theme of celebrating Pac's life. The public is invited to submit entries in four categories: Music Video (creating a clip for the album's "Untouchable" track), Artwork, Essay and Poetry.

"With Tupac as our inspiration, the goal is to spark creativity and stimulate conversation," says Afeni Shakur, his mother and founder of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, "as well as to continue to develop, expand and interact with the extraordinary community of Tupac fans."

Fans may upload their submissions to TupacContests.com. After being reviewed by Amaru/Interscope, those accepted into the competition will be displayed on the site and will contend for the final selection (to be made in early 2007). The submissions will be judged on creativity, originality, vision, clarity, passion, personality, inspiration, artistic merit and the ability to capture the essence of the theme.

The winner in each category will have his or her work displayed at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and will receive a commemorative plaque of the release of Pac's Life. In addition, the Music Video winner will be invited to submit a treatment for (and will appear in) a subsequent Tupac or other Interscope video. The Artwork, Essay and Poetry winners will each have his or her work published in the upcoming Tupac Interview book to be published in 2007 by Atria Books and will be interviewed for the book as well. The Artwork winner will also be invited to submit the winning drawing or another piece for a subsequent Tupac album while the Essay and Poetry winners will have their work published in a forthcoming textbook about Tupac.
