Trident Microsystems, Inc. Announces First Quarter of Fiscal Year 2007 Earnings Conference Call

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Trident Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:TRID), a leader in high-performance semiconductor system solutions for the multimedia and digital television markets will hold a conference call for interested parties of the financial community at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. The Company will release earnings after the market close on the same day.

Frank Lin, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. JH Chang, President and John Edmunds, Chief Financial Officer, will discuss the first quarter of fiscal year 2007 financial results and the Company's business outlook, followed by a Question and Answer session. While the special committee of the Board of Directors continues to review stock option related matters, we currently do not expect these matters to be resolved by the time we report earnings on October 25, 2006. Accordingly, we anticipate that the earnings press release for the first quarter will be abbreviated to cover revenues and certain balance sheet line items as was the case with the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006.
