'Talk to Me with Oprah Winfrey' Debuts Today on XM's 'Oprah & Friends' Channel
New Weekly Call-in Show on 'Oprah & Friends' to Air Every Thursday, Providing Fans with Direct Access to Oprah
CHICAGO and WASHINGTON, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- "Talk to Me with Oprah Winfrey," a new weekly call-in show hosted by Oprah, debuts today on XM's "Oprah & Friends" channel (XM 156), it was announced today by Harpo Radio, Inc. and XM, the nation's leading satellite radio service with more than seven million subscribers. The new show airs Thursdays at 10 a.m. ET.
"Talk to Me with Oprah Winfrey" provides listeners and fans with a direct way to share their thoughts with Oprah as she takes calls from listeners each week during the half-hour program. Using the toll-free number (866-OPRAH-XM) fans across the country can call Oprah to discuss, ask questions and share stories. Oprah will open each show with a brief monologue that will serve as the underlying theme, starting with this week's theme "Life Lessons."
The "Oprah & Friends" channel today also launched "Oprah Weekly Highlights," a half-hour program featuring the most memorable interviews and compelling moments of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" from the previous week.
"Talk to Me with Oprah Winfrey" will air Thursdays at 10 a.m. ET and "Oprah Weekly Highlights" will air Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. ET, both with additional encores airing throughout the week. The new programming replaces the weekly "Oprah and Gayle Show."
"One of the great things about the programming on 'Oprah & Friends' is that the caller-driven formats provide listeners with direct access to their favorite 'Oprah' personalities. The addition of 'Talk to Me with Oprah Winfrey' now expands that access to include Oprah herself," said John Gehron, general manager, Harpo Radio.
In September 2006, the "Oprah & Friends" channel debuted on the XM lineup. With a wide variety of daily and weekly shows hosted by popular personalities from "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and O, The Oprah Magazine, "Oprah & Friends" features around-the-clock programming on topics ranging from nutrition, fitness and health to self improvement, home decor and current events. In addition to Oprah, show hosts include legendary poet and bestselling author Dr. Maya Angelou; style expert Nate Berkus; financial coach and money expert Jean Chatzky; renowned exercise physiologist and fitness expert Bob Greene; O, The Oprah Magazine Editor-At-Large Gayle King; noted cardiologist and award- winning author Dr. Mehmet Oz; distinguished psychologist and best-selling author Dr. Robin Smith; and spiritual teacher and internationally acclaimed author and lecturer Marianne Williamson.
