Wal-Mart & ELLE Open New York Fashion Week for Thousands

Times Square Crowds Take in Runway Show and Take Away Style

NEW YORK, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunset on Thursday, September 7th, Wal-Mart(TM) brought style to the runway in and on top of New York City's Times Square Studios. In conjunction with ELLE(TM) Magazine, Wal-Mart kicked off New York Fall Fashion Week by showcasing 25 looks available in stores now and priced for every consumer. The presentation served as an introduction of the George ME by Mark Eisen(TM) line as well as fall offerings from Metro 7(TM) and No Boundaries(TM).

The modeling of several looks per brand included a live rooftop performance by Geffen's(TM) rising "it girl," Joanna. While her vocals rang out into the perfect summer night, models pranced to the beat and thousands witnessed all on neighboring Reuters(TM), NASDAQ(TM) and Good Morning America(TM) jumbo-trons. Immediately following the high altitude happening, all paraded to the ground floor to show it off for invited guests and all of Times Square.

The event culminated with a bow by designer Mark Eisen, interviews with Joanna and "Project Runway" judge and ELLE Fashion Director Nina Garcia, as well as the doling out of 1500 custom bags including $100 worth of swag to unsuspecting and lucky New Yorkers. The rather weighty Wal-Mart navy tote included full size products from sponsor L'Oreal Paris(TM), such as HiP Mascara, HiP Duo Shadow, HiP Lipstick, Wrinkle Decrease Collagen Filler, Sublime Glow, Men's Expert Power Clean, Vive Pro Style Infusing Shampoo and Conditioner, as well as Unilever's(TM) All "Small and Mighty" Detergent, Slim Fast Bars(TM), Q-Tips(TM), ELLE's September issue, Joanna's latest album, and of course, info on the fabulous fashions available on Walmart.com and at Wal-Mart stores nationwide.
