NEW YORK - Verizon was proud to sponsor ALIFE Boom Bap Courtyard End of Summer Jam: Beatbox, which featured renowned beatboxers of the past and present. Beatboxing is a form of music that started the hip-hop and rap genre in the late '70s and early '80s. Also known as human orchestration, beatboxing composes rhythms and sound effects created with the mouth, tongue and throat.
