SLS International Selects New Vice President of Sales and Engineering

SLS International Selects New Vice President of Sales and Engineering

Experienced Executive Expected to Drive Sales of Professional and Commercial Systems

OZARK, Mo., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SLS International Inc. (AMEX:SLS) announced today that it has appointed Tom Tyson as Vice President of Sales and Engineering. Mr. Tyson was hired by SLS in February of 2005 as the head of Field Engineering and soon thereafter was assigned the duties of overseeing new product development. Before joining SLS, Mr. Tyson was head of field engineering for Bose Professional for a period of 10 years and prior to his Bose position he was founder of Tyson Sound Design an independent sound design and acoustical consulting firm based in the Midwest.

"In the short time that Tom has been with our company he has shown a very strong work ethic and attention to detail and professionalism," stated John Gott Chairman and CEO of SLS International. "Due to the fact that SLS originated as a technology developer and engineering based company it makes sense that we not loose our focus on the advantages that our products have and we make sure that our customers maximize these advantages. Tom has the ability to tie engineering and sales together in a very comprehensive package better than anyone that I have seen in my 30 plus years in this industry. Our customers in the Commercial and Professional industry are looking for solutions to the age old problem of delivering the necessary sound for listeners to be able to hear intelligibly while at the same time producing sound that is not overbearing or damaging to their ears. When the advantages of the SLS Planar Ribbon Driver Technology are explained and understood by the sound designers and consultants they generally use our products in every application that they can.

"Additionally, Tom has developed an excellent training plan to deliver this message to all of our commercial dealers through a National program starting in the 4th quarter of 2006," continued Mr. Gott. "All of our Regional Sales Managers and independent sales representatives will be involved in the training program and we will be certifying our dealers that complete the program. This method should ensure that our products are used correctly and in the best possible manner. We expect that once these Certified SLS Sound Contractors enhance their knowledge of our products, they will be able present our products to their customers in a manner that will drive sales. Tom will also be overseeing our in house engineering team which are constantly working on improvements and the development of new products."

"I am very excited about this new challenge said Tom Tyson. "Coming to SLS and taking on this role seemed very natural to me. I have always been driven to provide outstanding sound quality whatever the application and the unique technologies being developed here make this more possible than ever before. I think there are incredible opportunities here to greatly improve the way people hear amplified sound today."
