New Channels and a New Look Coming to Time Warner Cable Digital Cable Customers on September 18, 2006
Line-Up to Be Grouped By Theme - 22 New Cable and VOD Channels Will Be Added
Time Warner Cable Digital customers will see exciting changes and additions to their channel lineup on September 18, 2006 across much of North Texas. Many Digital Cable subscribers will see their digital channels re- grouped together by theme on or after that date. Digital customers will find all news and weather channels listed side-by-side, sports channels will be together, and so forth. Time Warner Cable says all changes are designed to further enhance the Digital Cable experience making channel navigation easier than ever before.
"For many digital customers, the new lineup means you'll spend less time surfing for channels and more time enjoying your favorite programs," said Rob Moel, Time Warner Cable North Texas Division President. Time Warner Cable says, at first only those digital cable subscribers in upgraded areas will see a lineup change. North Texas residents with A/B switched cable service will not immediately see the new theme-based lineup, but will see new channels added to their digital lineup. As system enhancements are completed in those areas the new lineup will become available.
Time Warner Cable also plans to add 22 new digital and VOD channels to its digital lineup on September 18, boosting the variety of programming and choices. New channels include CNBC World, CNN International, Boomerang, Lifetime Real Women, C-SPAN 3, La Familia, Cartoon Network en Espanol, Sorpresa!, ImaginAsian and others. New Time Warner Cable video on demand (VOD) channels include; AOL Music on Demand, Exercise TV and NBC Universal Free Movies. The new VOD content is free to all Digital Cable customers.
A new benefit for subscribers of premium services is the new VOD access channel which will be included in the Premium Channel grouping. Time Warner Cable says the new Premium VOD channel will make content from HBO, Showtime, Cinemax and Starz! instantly accessible. No more searching through the main VOD menu to watch your favorite premium channel series or movies it's all available with the click of the remote.
Time Warner Cable customers with only Basic and Expanded Basic service will not see any changes to their service or lineup on September 18th. To inform their customers of the changes, Time Warner Cable mailed a channel notification to each Digital Cable subscriber who will receive the new lineup. Moel reminds customers that "the new lineup is also available for viewing online in a printer-friendly format." Customers with Time Warner Cable Digital Video Recorders (DVR) should remember to reset their favorites and future recording to avoid missing any of their favorite shows.
