The New CD Release from Chicago's Thadeus Project Is About Longtime Relationships and Simple Wisdom
CHICAGO, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- "What was our inspiration?" Ted Putbress ponders this question as he chats with partner in crime, Glenn Folworski, the driving forces behind the innovative Chicago-based Thadeus Project.
Veterans of the club scene, long before this incarnation of the collaboration, Glenn and Ted fronted bands including "Sno Hawk," "Mother Country," "Thunder Lizard" and, of course, "Blue Horizon." Putbress notes, "Glenn and I go back to our teens ... thirteen to be exact. His story is my story."
With the new album, "Simple Wisdom," recorded by Glenn and Ted with Linda Palm, John Zver and Kharis Washington, it's apparent that these two masters of the studio have developed their musical chops and brought their collective recording and producing skills to an entirely new level.
Their breakthrough project, 2004's "Danger and Bliss," proved to be the gold standard for Thadeus Project. Released in March of that year, the album was everything the artists thought Thadeus Project could be. It was also part of the inspiration for "Simple Wisdom" as well as "Just a Taste" released in November of 2005.
In addition to Ted and Glenn, the band's roots can be traced to drummer John Zver, who Ted and Glenn performed with during their high school years in another band. Glenn notes, "These relationships go back to our youth. That's why we feel such passion for this group and these songs. We've wanted to put this group back together for some time now and it feels so good to be in the studio with these, our closest of friends."
The band's growth timeline was interrupted with a series of unbelievable circumstances. Lost relatives, friends and bouts with substances all contributed to group members growing apart. But now, as Ted helms a thriving financial services company, and with Glenn back on track, while the recent past was about family and growing, the present is all about this creative group of longtime friends making incredibly sensational music together.
The 14 tunes on "Simple Wisdom" are just that -- simple wisdom -- in many instances. The title track of the same name refers to Ted and Glenn's past. Glenn says, "It's about the time when we were playing in our father's basement as Sno Hawk. It's a positive reflection and look back at ourselves. All these songs are 'real songs' about real stuff and life experiences we shared."
The masterminds behind Thadeus Project are on a mission to bring their music to the masses via any and all means necessary.
